The first question

Do you want short-term pain relief, or long-term correction?

It is the question Dr. Foudy asks every new patient, and he asks it gently. In his words: “If you want temporary relief, you're going to get temporary results. If you want long-term release, you're going to get correction.”

Relief quiets the alarm. Correction finds the cause. “Your spine is like your circuit breakers. We're going to see where you might have some circuit breakers out of alignment.” An adjustment pops the breaker back in, and the care after it keeps the signal flowing.

Your first visit

You see everything he sees.

After a comprehensive examination, Dr. Foudy reviews the findings with you - your posture numbers, your nerve scan, your X-rays - so you understand exactly what is going on before any care begins.

Postural assessment on dual scales at Foudy Chiropractic
Step one

Examine

The examination comes first: posture and weight bearing on dual scales, range of motion with a protractor, neurological and orthopedic testing, then a diagnostic surface electromyograph. “We're going to do an EKG of your nervous system.” Digital X-rays complete the picture, so the diagnosis is made properly.

Step two

Adjust

Precise hands-on work, head to toe, after the open-room modalities have warmed everything up. Six techniques, from Diversified to Thompson drop table to the Activator method, matched to your body rather than the other way around.

Step three

Rebuild

Your care includes an extensive evaluation of your biomechanics, followed by a corrective exercise program that teaches you how to move. It holds your new alignment the way a retainer holds straightened teeth after the braces come off.

What a first visit involves

Your first visit at Foudy Chiropractic in Mission Viejo answers three questions: what is wrong, how it can be treated, and what it will cost. Dr. Foudy gets there with a comprehensive examination - postural analysis, measured range of motion, neurological and orthopedic testing, a nerve-function scan, and digital X-rays when indicated - and reviews every finding with you before any care plan begins.

More about your first visit

Dr. Michael Foudy, D.C., in his Mission Viejo practice
Olympic years, ocean mornings

Eight years with the U.S. Women's National Team. Over thirty-seven in Mission Viejo.

From 1996 to 2004, Dr. Foudy served as the official chiropractor to the U.S. Women's Olympic and World Cup Soccer teams, through the gold medal run. In 1999 the Chiropractic Leadership Alliance named him Chiropractor of the Year.

That experience came home to his practice on Marguerite Parkway, and it has stayed there ever since. He remains active in the sports he treats - surfing, golf, and hiking - and some of his patients arrive by word of mouth from the lineup itself.

Thirty-seven years in, he still loves the work - and it shows in the room.

Straight answers

Questions people ask before they call

Can Dr. Foudy help me?

Most certainly, yes. Dr. Foudy has treated more than 10,000 patients across over thirty-seven years, and the first visit exists to confirm exactly what is going on. In the rare case your findings belong with another specialist, he tells you then and refers you to the right one.

What actually happens on the first visit?

Dr. Foudy investigates thoroughly before treating: a comprehensive examination covering posture, range of motion, neurological and orthopedic testing, a nerve-function scan, and digital X-rays when indicated. At the Report of Findings you see every result against your own images, and you decide what happens next.

How long will care take?

Adjustment visits run about 30 to 45 minutes. Most care plans start at two to three visits a week, then taper as your spine learns to hold the progress. Spinal decompression courses typically run six to eight weeks. Your exact plan comes from your own exam and X-rays, never from a template.

How much does it cost?

An adjustment visit is $90 and includes every modality plus the adjustment itself. Massage and stretch lab sessions are $95 an hour or $55 for the half hour. Spinal decompression plans are personal and are discussed in person after your exam. Most patients pay cash, and Carmen can verify your insurance before you come in - call (949) 365-0403.

Where is the office and when is it open?

28892 Marguerite Pkwy #150, Mission Viejo, CA 92692. Open mornings most days: Monday and Wednesday 7:30–11:30 am and 3:00–6:00 pm, Tuesday 8:30–11:30 am, Friday 7:30–11:30 am. Thursday is afternoons only, 3:00–6:00 pm. Closed weekends.

Do you take insurance?

Yes - call (949) 365-0403 and Carmen will verify your coverage before your first visit. Many patients also simply pay cash, which is why every price on this site is stated up front.
